In 2019, the total electricity generation in Sweden was 164.4 TWh. Around 39.3% from hydropower, 39.1% from nuclear and thermal power, 12.1% from wind power and 9.5% from biomass & waste and solar energy. Around 58% of total electricity generation is from renewable energy resources .

Sweden deployed about 430 MW of solar during the first half of 2025, according to figures from the Swedish solar association Svensk Solenergi. Oskar Öhrman, technical manager at the association, told pv magazine the figure is 24% lower than 2024 and on par with levels recorded in 2022.
