The Cebu facility is the second for MGEN after the planned 4,500 megawatt-hour energy storage project in Nueva Ecija, which broke ground in November 2024. President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. was present during the groundbreaking of the Terra Solar Project, the largest integrated solar and battery storage facility in the world to date. (PNA)
Considered one of the first large-scale energy storage systems in Central Visayas, the hybrid BESS will provide ancillary services by storing surplus electricity and releasing it to the grid when needed to help stabilize power supply.
